Malawi Water

Borehole Project

BOREHOLE PROJECT

We work with and support charities bringing fresh water to remote villages in Malawi. In Malawi, more than 13 million people have no access to clean water. Over 80% of the population live in rural areas and still drink water from unprotected sources. This increases the risk of outbreaks of water-borne diseases. Children, in particular, suffer from water-borne diseases in the country.

ACHIEVEMENTS

  • We started the Water Borehole digging project in Sep 2014, for providing deep water boreholes that will exist for years.
  • The Water Wells Project in Malawi has constructed 1,282 boreholes in total.
  • 134 boreholes were abandoned due to dry holes and collapsing of the pits.
  • 1,148 boreholes have been successfully working and have benefitted a population of about 287,000 people.
