The Walkers Chocolates Story

Our story began in 1963 as independent family chocolate makers based in Birmingham.

In 2020, we became part of EP Group shareholders and committed to ensure that our high standards of efficiency are maintained through constant upgrading to take advantage of new technology and procedures.

Thanks to the continued investment into the company, we were able to substantially increase our capacity further.

Maintenance Engineer

Birmingham – Onsite About the Role We’re looking for a hands-on Maintenance Engineer to join the team at Walkers Chocolates in Birmingham. In this role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining machinery and site facilities, ensuring production lines run efficiently and downtime is minimised. You’ll react quickly to breakdowns, identify root causes, and implement effective fixes, while also carrying out planned maintenance during non-production hours. Working closely with production and engineering teams, you’ll play a key role in supporting operational performance and maintaining high standards across safety, quality, and food compliance. Key Responsibilities Respond to machinery breakdowns, diagnose root causes, and implement fixes Carry out planned preventative maintenance to keep equipment running efficiently Ensure all maintenance activities are logged accurately Support production teams to minimise downtime and maintain line performance Escalate major breakdowns where required Follow continuous improvement processes and contribute to efficiency gains Maintain high standards of GMP, food safety, and quality compliance Keep tools and work areas organised and maintained About You Experience in a hands-on engineering role, ideally within a manufacturing environment Electrical or mechanical qualifications (or equivalent) Strong problem-solving skills and ability to react quickly under pressure Experience with preventative maintenance and breakdown response Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Good communication skills and attention to detail Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment Basic PC skills and ability to work with maintenance systems Desirable: Experience with high-speed packaging machinery FMCG or food production background PLC knowledge or experience Familiarity with continuous improvement tools and processes Additional Information We are not engaging recruitment agencies for this role 📩 Apply via email: Recruitment@walkerschocolates.co.uk

Birmingham – Hybrid About the Role Are you passionate about building strong customer relationships and driving commercial growth? Walkers Chocolates, a well-established global confectionery business and trusted private label supplier, is looking for a Commercial Manager to support our expanding presence across Export and Discounter channels. In this role, you will take ownership of key accounts while contributing to the wider retail strategy. You’ll join a collaborative, fast-paced commercial team and play a direct role in driving growth across both UK and international markets.
